Outwear Ltd’s Managing Director, Andrew Hunter has regular visits over to Austria to meet with the Pfanner and Protos teams to discuss products, orders and ideas. This time round though he decided to bring some more of the team and let them get hands on with the Protos production.
Welcome to Austria
Pfanner and Protos are both owned by Anton Pfanner and operate from the same location in Austria. They have separate teams and warehouses on the site dedicated to each brand but collectively work together to deliver fantastic, high quality products. There is also the most amazing shop with an excellent display of all the products from the brands.
We were looked after really well by the team as usual and enjoyed a truly special evening at a mountain restaurant with some of the best views across the Austrian and Swiss Alps. A big thank you to everyone for welcoming us in such style.
Learning about Protos production
During one of the days Andy McGarva and Lynn Hunter from Outwear were trained by the experts to apply the Protos stickers to the outer shell. This is not as easy as it sounds as you only get one chance and the stickers are very flexible, so mistakes are easy to make but never accepted. We also worked with the Protos design team on some of the custom stickers to understand what could be created and how the process happens.
